Edelstahlhandelsvereinigung (EHV) is the association of the German specialty steel distribution. Since 1946, member companies have been supported with services related to the specialty steel market.
Members come from all levels of specialty steel distribution: manufacturers (flat products, long products, tubes), service centres (factory-based or free), stockholding trading houses (regional or national).
In several regional trade associations, the EHV deepens its work within Germany.
Stockholding specialty steel distribution is economically necessary. It is capital- and risk-intensive. In order to be able to operate as a market-supplying company in such an environment in conformity with the law and with the prospect of entrepreneurial success, well-founded and topic-specific information is required, especially about raw material markets, consumer employment and stock cycles. About foreign trade flows and the current trade defence instruments. We offer all this information. In some sections also exclusively for our members. Always in accordance with competition law.
Further challenges are already “in the pipeline”. In particular, this means new climate policy measures (e.g. CBAM = Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) that will affect steel distribution. We are constantly monitoring developments and informing our member companies in a comprehensible form.
Our member companies have access to a wide range of neutral information and services without having to take time-consuming and cost-intensive action on their own. For us, neutrality means: aggregated information without trade recommendations.
We offer all member companies a network for personal contacts in a space which is in conformity with competitition law.
We are also the helping hand for individual questions. Support with your presentations and business reports? No problem – just drop us a line.
Our passion is to provide our members with unbureaucratic, competent and cost-effective services. Thanks to our lean membership fee structure, our work is also accessible to companies that could not afford a corresponding market analysis on their own. In this way, we make a decisive contribution to promoting competition.
